Jane Bowling-Wilson was selected as the Executive Director to Northern Piedmont Community Foundation (NPCF) in 2015. Before joining Northern Piedmont Community Foundation in 2015 as Executive Director, Jane was the Executive Director (2011-2015) for the Headwaters Foundation, an educational nonprofit that supports opportunities for children in Rappahannock County.
Prior to nonprofit work, Jane was a freelance art director/designer for several direct mail companies and specialized in children’s toy and apparel catalogs. Previous to this, she was a creative director and graphic designer for direct mail companies.
Jane’s career path began in education. She taught English and Art in day and night school to migrants and Spanish Americans through Headstart. Later she taught high school English, Art and initiated a full time Photography program. She was chair of the Fine Arts Department in a public school in VA and co-founded a 5-county Fine Art summer and after-school enrichment program based out of Shenandoah University. She was instrumental in developing and implementing a Fine Arts Curriculum for Gifted and Talented middle school students in the summer enrichment program at University of VA
She has a BA degree from University of Mary Washington in fine arts with a minor in education. She completed course work for a degree in English shortly after graduation. She finished her graphic arts training through the Corcoran School of Art open program in Washington DC.
Dede McClure has extensive experience in operations and management. Her career spans three decades serving both the private and nonprofit sectors. Having moved from Washington DC in 2011, Dede went to work with both Kid Pan Alley and the Headwaters Foundation in Rappahannock County. Prior to the very good decision to leave DC, Dede served as Vice President of Operations/Chief of Staff for Sightline Marketing, a communications and marketing firm. Sightline Marketing was chosen by the Washington Business Journal as one of its “50 Best Places to Work”.
Concurrently with her work with Sightline marketing, Dede was deeply involved in charter school growth in Washington DC. She managed the business and development office at the Elsie Whitlow Stokes Public Charter School. Before that, she served as Executive Director for the Greater Washington Hospitality Foundation, whose mission was to develop and open the Marriott Hospitality Public Charter High School, the nation’s first charter school devoted to academic excellence and career development in the dynamic field of hospitality. Dede was also associate director for FOCUS, a D.C. advocacy organization with national reach in supporting the role of choice in public education.
She served on the board of the TurnFirst Foundation, an organization she helped found that is dedicated to helping those newly diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She is currently, a member of the Red Sweater Project Advisory Board, a secondary school in the Mungare district of Tanzania.
Dede was educated at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and the University of Paris, Sorbonne.
Renard Carlos is a lifelong resident of the Town of Warrenton, Virginia and a graduate of George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government. Renard was hired as the Manager of Programs and Communication for the Northern Piedmont Community Foundation in 2022.
Prior to accepting the position as the Programs and Communication Manager, Renard served for two years as a member of the Board of Directors for the Northern Piedmont Community Foundation.
In addition to his work with the Northern Piedmont Community Foundation, Renard serves in the community as an At-Large Member of the Warrenton, Virginia Town Council. Additionally, Renard serves as a Board Member for Laurel Ridge Community College, Ethnos College, Fauquier Health, and serves as Vice President of the Fauquier County NAACP.
Renard and his lovely wife Lea Carlos were married in 2019 and currently reside in Warrenton, Virginia. Renard and Lea enjoy spending time volunteering in their community and caring for their two dogs George and Pepé.
Liz Rose is a native of Fauquier county and lives in the town of Warrenton with her husband, two daughters and two dogs. After working for over a decade in the medical field, Liz pursued her degree in psychology. She specialized in developmental psychology to help children coping with trauma and other mental health issues, further exploring this through an internship in Juvenille Probation Court.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Mary Washington, she began working as an in-home counselor and mentor of youth, which landed her at the local Boys & Girls Club. She quickly fell in love with the nonprofit world, working with both the Boys & Girls Club of Fauquier and Fauquier Habitat for Humanity in organizational and program development, as well as fundraising.
Liz created a consulting business to address temporary staffing and program development needs in nonprofits, working as a contractor with NPCF for nearly 2 years before officially joining the team in early 2024. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club and recent chaired the Saint James Parent Association.
