Scholarship Renamed to Honor Late Fauquier County Deputy Eddie Wines

The Bracey Family Commitment to Service Fund with NPCF has been renamed to the Bracey-Wines Commitment to Service Scholarship in memory of Robert “Eddie” Wines, a devoted member of the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office who recently passed away. The decision to rename the fund was initiated by the Bracey family, who reached out to NPCF and the Wines family to honor the late deputy’s legacy. The Bracey Family Committment to Service Scholarship was set up to honor Glen Bracey, a former deputy in Fauquier County Sheriff's Department and good friend to Mr. Wines.

Eddie Wines' career with the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office spanned 45 years, and he became known for his commitment to training and excellence in law enforcement. The newly named Bracey-Wines Scholarship, managed by NPCF, will continue to support law enforcement initiatives through the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office, with NPCF overseeing the financial disbursements. The Bracey-Wines Scholarship will ensure that Sgt. Maj. Wines' legacy of service and dedication to the community as well as Mr. Bracey's, will endure for years to come.
