NPCF Announces Retirement of Executive Director Jane Bowling-Wilson and Seeks New Leadership

The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation (NPCF) announces the retirement of its Executive Director, Jane Bowling-Wilson, who has served the organization with dedication. Under her leadership, NPCF has advanced its mission to improve the quality of life in our community through philanthropy, collaboration, and support for local nonprofits. 

"We are deeply grateful for Jane's visionary leadership,” said Eugene Triplett, Chair of the NPCF Board of Directors. “Jane has been not only a great leader but also a personal friend and advisor to me, and we wish her the very best in her future endeavors." 

In response to this transition at the end of the year, the NPCF Board of Directors has formed a Succession Committee to oversee the search for a new Executive Director. This committee, composed of board members and community leaders, is focused on finding a successor who embodies NPCF's values and is ready to lead the organization into its next phase. 

Applications for the Executive Director position are being accepted through August 30, 2024. This is an opportunity for an experienced leader to build on the strong foundation established by Jane Bowling-Wilson and to further NPCF's mission in the Northern Piedmont region.

The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation (NPCF) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Executive Director to drive our mission forward.

    About the Role: As the Executive Director, you will report directly to the Board of Directors and work closely with its Executive Committee to lead NPCF in achieving its goals. You will play a crucial role in increasing our donor base, building strong community relationships, and managing the foundation's operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Expand Donor Base: Engage prospective donors, including individuals, corporations, and nonprofits, through proposals and presentations. Develop and sustain a donor cultivation program.

    • Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with local organizations, represent NPCF at key events, and create opportunities to promote nonprofit capacity building.

    • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans, manage funds and investments, and act as a liaison to the Board and its committees.

    • Operational Management: Oversee staff, volunteers, and consultants, manage financial records, and ensure accountability and transparency.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of five years of senior-level experience in the nonprofit sector.

    • Strong understanding of accounting best practices and systems.

    • Familiarity with the community foundation model and grantmaking processes.

    • Excellent public speaking and community engagement skills.

    • Proven ability to collaborate with volunteers, Board members, and community leaders.

    • A visionary leader with a deep commitment to philanthropy and the community.
