Local Foundation Brings People Together – Three Cheers for Give Local Piedmont!

Celebrating its 24th year, the Northern Piedmont Community Foundation, NPCF, is a public charity that builds philanthropic capital to enhance and preserve the quality of life in Madison, Culpeper, Fauquier, and Rappahannock counties; and to strengthen the communities’ nonprofit organizations.

In the 11th year, a record breaking 225 nonprofits participated in the Northern Piedmont Community Foundation’s Give Local Piedmont program.   Together, our communities of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, and Rappahannock raised $1,147,000!   Total for all eleven years is $10,247,000; that is ten million two hundred and forty-seven thousand!   This year there were 3,212 donors who made 6,590 donations to reach that million-dollar number.   The largest donation came in at $25,000.
Fauquier Free Clinic led the way with 210 unique donors.
90% of our donors covered the fees and 90 nonprofits experienced growth in donations compared to last year, and 80 organizations experienced growth in total donors compared to last year.
Thirty organizations received a commitment of monthly donations beyond Give Local.

On the backside, planning started in September with the Give Local Piedmont team.  Mightycause managed the platform for giving again this year.  The PATH Foundation provided the $100,000 bonus pool where every participant with donations receives a portion of, as well as the student giving ($42,000).
Our sponsors provide another $25,000 in prizes and marketing materials for the participants. The sponsors are a perennial group who all understand and applaud this extraordinary giving day.

We know that meaningful differences are made each day through charitable giving. Thanks to our communities for reaching and joining so many other like-minded citizens in giving to organizations serving our communities and keeping us all moving forward.

“The Community Foundation is here to empower the next generation so they may grow up with ambitions and ideas that will change our community and the world for the better,” remarked Bowling-Wilson, executive director for NPCF.  “And we are here to help.”   “The Give Local Piedmont program exemplifies the generosity of our neighbors and friends where people join together to help others”.   What a remarkable day!
