33 Nonprofits Awarded $250,000 in Community Assistance Grants

We’re thrilled to announce that this year, the Northern Piedmont Community Foundation awarded $250,000 in Community Assistance Grants to 33 local nonprofits. These grants are designed to support organizations with both programmatic and general operating support, offering them the flexibility to meet critical and emergent needs in our communities.

This year’s grants focus on organizations that serve Fauquier, Rappahannock, and Culpeper counties, and preference was given to proposals that emphasized collaboration and resource-building across the region. We are proud to partner with so many nonprofits that are finding creative and impactful ways to serve our community.

Here are two of the awarded projects we’d like to highlight:

Friends of the Rappahannock
Through their “Environmental Education Growth & Sustainability” project, FOR is expanding its presence in Culpeper by developing programs and infrastructure at Float on Farms, a newly secured outdoor learning site on the Robinson River. This grant supports teacher training, student programs, and long-term visioning for an inclusive, sustainable outdoor education space to serve thousands of students annually.

Just Neighbors
With growing demand in rural areas, Just Neighbors has expanded its Northern Piedmont Immigration Medical Legal Partnership to provide walk-in immigration legal services embedded within free clinics in Fauquier and Culpeper. This grant helps sustain on-site legal consultations that serve immigrant families facing barriers to legal representation, healthcare access, and safety from abuse.

These are just two examples of how funding can empower organizations to adapt, grow, and respond to the changing needs of our region.

At NPCF, we are continuing to monitor changes in State and Federal support for our local nonprofit agencies. We are committed, as able, to offer support to ensure our community's most vulnerable individuals continue to receive needed services and care.
If your organization or an agency you support has been impacted by recent changes, please reach out to us—we may be able to help.

Thank you to all who applied, and congratulations to the 33 selected nonprofits! We’re honored to support your work and the lives you change each day.
