Northern Piedmont Community Foundation Opens Applications for the Richard Lykes Rappahannock Community Fund
The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation (NPCF) is excited to announce that applications are now open for the Richard Lykes Rappahannock Community Fund. This fund honors the enduring legacy of Richard Lykes, a celebrated photojournalist and civic leader whose passion for philanthropy continues to inspire positive change across Rappahannock County.
Nonprofit organizations based in Rappahannock County that are addressing critical community needs or fostering new opportunities for local residents are encouraged to apply.
In 2023, the fund awarded an impressive $96,500 to 18 nonprofit organizations, including the Virginia Cooperative Extension, which used the funding to support the John Jackson Piedmont Blues Festival—a vibrant celebration of Rappahannock’s rich cultural heritage.
“Our mission with the Richard Lykes Rappahannock Community Fund is to empower local nonprofits to execute meaningful projects that benefit the entire county,” said Jane Bowling-Wilson, Executive Director of NPCF. “Through this fund, we are carrying forward Richard’s vision of a connected, thriving community, where nonprofits can grow, and residents have access to vital services.”
Nonprofit organizations interested in applying for the Richard Lykes Rappahannock Community Fund should visit NPCF.org for detailed application guidelines. Grant proposals must be submitted by the deadline of November 13, 2024.
